The Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) is one of the world’s most influential events for the oil and gas industry, which hosts hundreds of speakers, thousands of exhibiting companies and tens of thousands of trade professionals from around the world.Petroleum Institute of Pakistan (PIP) under the patronage of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Resources and the support of ten state-owned oil & gas companies formed Pakistan pavilion. Participating companies included Sui Southern Gas Company, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd, Pakistan State Oil, Pakistan Arab Refinery Company, Pakistan Petroleum Ltd, Mari Petroleum Company Ltd, Government Holdings (Pvt) Ltd, Oil and Gas Development Company Ltd, Pakistan LNG Terminal Ltd, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Oil and Gas Company Ltd and MP&NR.
MINISTERIAL SESSION
His Highness Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court, formally inaugurated the largest ever Petroleum Conference at ADIPEC. Global Ministerial Dialogues brought together international ministers and decision makers who offered insights on driving sustainability and shaping future energy scenarios amid an evolving global supply mix.
Participants from Pakistan included Federal Minister for Petroleum and NR H.E. Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Minister of State H.E. Jam Kamal Khan, Advisor Ministry of Petroleum Mr. Zahid Muzaffar.
Mr. Shahid Khaqan Abbasi spoke at the session titled “Empowering Emerging Markets”. The key areas of his talk included investment opportunities in Pakistan oil and gas sector, impact of low oil prices & Government’s policies and import of LNG on sustainable basis to mitigate the energy crises etc. Other ministers who shared the stage included His Excellency, Suhail Mohamed Ali UAE’s Minister of Energy, Tarek El Molla, Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and Arcandra Tahar Indonesia’s Vice Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources.
